Green Cleaning, Stated Accurately
We use lower-impact products and methods where they perform, and we hold no environmental certification of any kind. Broadway NY Cleaning is not Green Seal certified. Where your specification requires certification, it should be stated at tender so that certified contractors are approached.
This page exists because green cleaning is the area of this industry where claims and reality diverge most, and because a page that says plainly what is not held is more useful to a buyer than one that implies what is.
What We Do Not Hold
No Green Seal certification. No ISSA CIMS certification, including the Green Building designation. No environmental management system certification. If any contractor tells you they are green certified, ask for the certificate number and the issuing body, then check it. It takes two minutes and it is worth doing with every contractor including us — you will find we have nothing to produce, which is the point of this page.
What Green Seal Would Actually Prove
Green Seal certifies products and services against a published environmental standard, assessed by an independent body. For a cleaning service that covers the products used, the procedures around them, training, and record keeping. It is a real assessment against a real standard, not a marketing badge. If it matters to your organisation, specify it, and approach contractors who carry it.
What We Actually Do
We select lower-impact products where they perform the task adequately, which is most of the time and not all of it. We use microfibre and the appropriate dilution rather than excess product, which reduces chemical load and generally cleans better. We avoid unnecessary fragrance, which masks rather than cleans and causes problems for people with sensitivities. Where a task genuinely requires a stronger product — certain restroom work, certain floor finishes — we use it and say so rather than under-perform the task in order to claim something about the products.
Why We Are Telling You This
A buyer who chooses us on the basis of an implied certification will discover the gap during procurement, and at that point everything else we have said becomes suspect. It is a considerably better outcome for both of us if you know now.
