Waste and Recycling Handling
We collect and separate waste and recycling and move it to the building's designated collection point. We are not a carting company: removal from the premises to a disposal facility is arranged by the building or by a licensed carter, not by us.
This is a licensing distinction that catches people out, so it is worth stating clearly before it appears as a gap.
Where Our Scope Ends
Our crews empty the bins, separate the streams as your building requires, and take the material to the compactor, the dock or wherever your building designates. At that point it becomes the building's or the carter's responsibility. Commercial waste removal in New York requires licensing that a cleaning contractor does not hold, and any contractor offering to remove your waste from site as part of a cleaning contract is describing something other than what will actually happen.
Separation Is a Floor-Level Problem
Most recycling failures happen at the desk, not at the dock. Material sorted correctly by cleaners into a building stream that was contaminated upstairs achieves nothing. Bin placement, labelling and what staff are asked to do with their own waste determine the outcome far more than the cleaning specification does.
Volume Changes the Specification
Premises generating unusual volume — retail with heavy packaging, an office with a distribution element, anything with frequent deliveries — need that accounted for in labour-hours explicitly. Cardboard in particular takes far longer to handle than its weight suggests, because it has to be broken down before it goes anywhere.
