Weekend-Only Commercial Cleaning
Weekend-only cleaning concentrates the specification into one or two visits at the weekend, for premises where weekday attendance is not justified. It suits low-occupancy offices and premises that are genuinely empty at weekends.
Weekend-only is the right answer more often than it is proposed, because contractors quote weekday frequency by habit and offices accept it by habit.
Where It Works
An office with genuinely low occupancy — a team of eight in a space built for thirty, or a floor that is meaningfully attended two days a week — does not generate five nights of soiling. Concentrating the work into a weekend visit with a longer dwell time frequently produces a better result than five thin ones, because a longer uninterrupted visit allows detail work that a short nightly attendance never reaches.
Where It Does Not
Restrooms and refuse are the constraint. An occupied office generates both daily, and neither tolerates a five-day gap. If the premises are attended during the week at all, something has to happen during the week, even if it is a short check rather than a full specification.
Be sceptical of any contractor who agrees to weekend-only for an occupied office without raising this. They have either not thought about it or they are not planning to mention it until the complaint arrives.
What Is Included
- One or two weekend visits at a stated frequency
- Full specification performed with longer dwell time
- Detail work that a short nightly attendance does not reach
- Refuse and recycling to the building's collection point
- Supervisory inspection of completed work
What Is Not Included Unless You Ask for It
This list is here on purpose. When a client and a contractor fall out, the cause is almost always an item each side believed the other had taken care of. Reading it now costs a minute; discovering it in month three costs considerably more.
- Weekday restroom servicing and refuse, which need separate provision if the premises are occupied
- Reactive attendance during the week unless separately arranged
- Building access where the managing agent restricts weekend entry

Weekend-Only Cleaning: Frequently Asked Questions
Our office is occupied three days a week. Is weekend-only enough?
Probably not on its own. Restrooms and refuse do not tolerate a five-day gap in an occupied space. A weekend specification plus a short midweek attendance is usually the correct shape, and usually fewer labour-hours than five full nights.
Will the building allow weekend access?
Many will; some restrict it or require an operator. Confirm with your managing agent before the specification is written.
